The advantages of the SuperPipe five-layer pipe result from the technically complicated construction with exactly evenly coordinated layers. SuperPipe, the multi-layer pipe consists of an aluminium pipe with tightly bonded plastic layers on its inner and outer walls. In order to achieve an absolutely oxygen-tight pipe the performed aluminium pipe is welded longitudinally in an overlapping way. This method alone represents the ultimate safe welding technique. This welded aluminium layer results in a first class pressure resistance. Burst tests with over 80 bar rated pressure have proven the constant quality.
SuperPipe production lines operate according to the latest methods developed for computer and plastic technologies. A continuous quality control and documentation takes place as early as during the production process itself. Aside from the continuous tests on each SuperPipe coil, long-time rupture tests are made in order to determine the permanent durability. This is to assure that after 50 years sufficient safety and perfect function are guaranteed.
